Why I do this work
I spent a long time believing that a creative life was possible, but only for other people. I had to be at least a little bit practical.
That led to years of trying to fold myself into ridiculous, uncomfortable configurations, all in the name of "fitting in," "making it," and "that's the way the world works."
It was awful.
The minute I gave in (to my body, to the call of my soul, to the desire to do something differently), everything shifted. Incredible synchronicities showed up - people, projects, opportunities.
I totally resonate with what Joseph Campbell has said about his experience.
